LONDON – Tottenham Hotspur did not win in the 2020-2021 Premier League week. The Lilywhites, nicknamed Tottenham, lost 1-0 to Everton at Tottenham Stadium, Sunday, September 13, 2020, WIB.
Tottenham lost to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal that maximized Lucas Digne’s free kick in the 55th minute. The loss left Tottenham 17th in the standings.
Tottenham manager José Mourinho was so disappointed by the humiliating loss to Everton. Mourinho said Tottenham would not lose if they had a more mature preseason. According to him, the bad preseason meant that the players did not fit 100 percent when the league started.
Physical insufficiency makes it difficult for Tottenham players when required to pursue a goal deficit. Mourinho even said that Tottenham players were lazy to push when opponents were holding the ball. This left Everton free to build attacks from behind.

Aside from physical problems, Mourinho also suspects that some players appear with the wrong mentality against Everton. Even so, the Portuguese tactician did not reveal to the media who he was referring to because he was not very sure.
“What happened before the goal was a good game. We had two extraordinary situations (chances from Dele Alli and Matt Doherty) and two good saves from Jordan Pickford, “said Mourinho, adapting from BBC, Monday (9/14/2020).
