jpnn.com, CALIFORNIA – Douglas Emhoff, husband of Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, will leave his job at one of Uncle Sam’s poshest law firms in January.
This step was taken in order to focus on supporting his wife in government tasks.
Emhoff has been an attorney at the DLA Piper law firm since 2017. According to court records, the 56-year-old defended filmmaker American Made, NFL athlete Willie Gault, and Merck and Walmart.
Emhoff took a break from work in August after Joe Biden announced that he would hire Kamala Harris as a candidate for vice president of the Democratic Party.
Yesterday, Tuesday (11/10), representatives of Biden’s campaign team said that Emhoff would end all relationships with DLA Piper on the opening day of January 20, 2021.
Douglas Emhoff and Kamala Harris have been married since 2014. At the time Harris was still the attorney general for the state of California. (reuters / dil / jpnn)
