The landslides in the Ciganjur, Jagakarsa area of South Jakarta left a heartbreaking story. The collapsed earth blocked the flow of the river, making the houses left behind appear to be floating.

The incident occurred on Saturday (10/10) evening when heavy rains swept through almost the entire Jakarta area. Information about floods was then relayed, one of which came from the RT 4 RW 2 Ciganjur area.

Heavy rains caused landslides in the Ciganjur area, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta (Jaksel). The landslide then buried the flow of the river, causing the water to swell in the settlements of residents. The wall of the house that fell left a floating part of the house. (Sachril Agustín Berutu / detikcom)

When tracked down, it turned out that the landslide wall or sheeting was in Melati Residence Housing. Debris from sheet pile landslides fills the river into the Setu River below it.

Water from the river also overflows into resident settlements, which are much lower than residential areas. You can see that one of the houses in Perumahan Melati Residence is at the end of a landslide plaster. About 3-4 meters from the part of the house in the housing complex, it appears that they are floating due to the plaster. Meanwhile, the height of the dwellings with settlements below is around 15-20 meters.

In fact, outside the house there is a patio and a fence. However, the collapse of the plaster of the house made the patio and the fence disappear due to the landslide.

It appears that at this time officials from the Subdepartment of Water Resources (SDA) and Public Facilities and Infrastructure (PPSU) were clearing the debris from the landslide.

Also, there is a PLN substation that has moved down. It seems that this PLN substation can go down to the settlement at any moment. A spider excavator unit is prepared to evacuate the PLN substation.

Jagakarsa District Kasatpel SDA Subdepartment Erna Yuni Nurani previously said that the landslide was 20 meters long. He said 2 heavy crews would be deployed for the landslide cleanup process in Ciganjur.

“Kali Setu normalization, that landslide, will add one more, then 2 (heavy equipment). The location is quite long, I estimate about 15-20 meters ”, said Erna.
