JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM) (SI) plans to hold another rally on Friday (10/16/2020).
BEM SI central coordinator Remy Hastian said the action will take place at 1:00 pm WIB at the State Palace.
“At 1:00 pm WIB in front of the Palace,” Remy said via short message, on Thursday (10/15/2020).
Remy said, BEM SI still urges the president to issue a Perppu to repeal the Job Creation Act (UU) that has been passed.

They also criticized the government’s actions that, apparently, try to interfere with the movements and voices of the citizens against the rejection of the Employment Creation Law.
He added that BEM SI also condemned the repressive actions of the authorities against the masses who took the action.
Not only that, they also invited students from all over Indonesia to join and present their rejection of the Copyright Law, until the Law is repealed and repealed.
It was previously reported that the DPR had approved the Employment Creation Law on Monday, October 5, 2020. This resulted in rejection actions that occurred in several regions.

In the capital, the protest action was marred by riots. Finally, on Tuesday (10/13/2020) a second wave of demonstrations took place at various points in central Jakarta, namely the Arjuna Wiwaha statue (horse statue), Harmony and the State Palace.
Clashes with joint TNI-Polri agents guarding the demonstration were inevitable.
Demonstrations also took place on October 8 that ended in chaos. The masses set fire to various public facilities, such as Transjakarta bus stops and police posts.
As a result of this incident, the police have assigned 1,377 people to the two demonstrations.
