jpnn.com, JAKARTA – The Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI) in the Greater Jakarta-Banten region will hold a demonstration today, Friday, October 16, 2020, at the Merdeka Palace area in central Jakarta.
The BEM regional coordinator for Jabodetabek-Banten All Indonesia BEM Alliance Bagas Maropindra said the action would start at 13.00 WIB.
“This action is a peaceful action and free from all anarchist actions as a manifestation of the intellectual and moral movement of Indonesian students,” Bagas said in his statement, on Thursday (10/15).
The demands of today’s demonstration remain the same as above, that is, reject the Employment Creation Law.
At least, there were three main demands for students to protest.
“First, urge the President to issue a PERPPU to repeal the Employment Creation Law that was approved on Monday, October 5, 2020,” said Bagas.
“Condemn the actions of the government that try to intervene in the movement and the voice of the people in the face of the rejection of the Employment Creation Law,” continued Bagas.
Meanwhile, the third demand was for the students to criticize the various repressive actions of the state apparatus against the entire mass of action.
