“The cost of living in Bali which is cheap, comfortable and friendly for LGBTQ + people is also offered,” said Bali Jamaruli Manihuruk, Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in his statement, Tuesday (19 / 1).

In addition to tweeting on Twitter, the invitation was also published in an e-book for $ 30 and followed by a consultation at a cost of $ 50 for 45 minutes.

After it went viral, the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Bali immediately verified the incoming data for foreigners on behalf of Christian Antoinette Gray who entered the Indonesian territory.

According to the data, Gray entered Indonesia on January 21, 2020 at 11:04:54 PM WITA through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

Then, on December 22, 2020, Gray extended his residence permit at TPI Denpasar Class I Immigration Office, which is valid until January 24, 2021.

“After verification by immigration officials, a Christian sponsor Antoinette Gray with the initials IGW was found in the Ubud area and a field verification was carried out on January 18, 2021,” said Jamaruli.

Later, on January 19, immigration authorities called Gray’s sponsor for further checks.

Jamaruli transmitted the tweet made by Gray that contains the invitation, which contradicts the Circular of the Head of the Covid-19 Management Working Group Number 2 of 2021 on Health Protocols in International Travel in the Period of the Covid-19 Pandemic .

In addition, he continued, it also contradicts the Circular of the Director General of Immigration Number: IMI-0103.GR.01.01 Year 2021 regarding the Temporary Restriction of Entry of Foreigners to Indonesian Territories during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Based on the results of the investigation, Gray is suspected of spreading information that could upset the public. Namely, the Bali issue provides comfort for LGBTQ +, including easy access to Bali in the midst of a pandemic.

On that basis, Gray should be suspected of violating Article 75, paragraph 1, of Law No. 6 of 2011 on immigration.

Later, Gray is also suspected of conducting business by selling e-books and setting up tourism consulting fees in Bali.

“So that they can be subject to sanctions in accordance with article 122 letter a of Law Number 6 Year 2011 on immigration,” said Jamaruli.

Jamaruli said that as a follow-up to Gray’s actions, he was subject to administrative immigration action in the form of deportation or removal.

This is in accordance with paragraph 1 of article 75 and letter f of paragraph 2 of Law Number 6 of 2011 on immigration.

“With regard to the deportation process, at the moment a US citizen is placed on behalf of Kristen Antoinette Gray in the Detention Room of the Class I Immigration Office of TPI Denpasar,” said Jamaruli.

In addition, Jamaruli said that his party called on foreigners to comply with health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic. Furthermore, foreigners are also encouraged to follow the correct procedures regarding currency exchange agreements and while in Indonesia.
