JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The attorney for Brigadier General (Pol) Prasetijo Utomo, Petrus Bala Pattyona, revealed the chronology of his client’s lunch by the Chief of the South Jakarta District Prosecutor, Anang Supriatna, last Friday (10/16/2020) .

Prasetijo is a police general who is one of the suspects in the alleged bribery case for the removal of the red notice Djoko Tjandra.

In addition to Prasetijo and Petrus, other suspects who participated in the lunch were Inspector General (Pol) Napoleon Bonaparte.

Through his Facebook account, Petrus said that he and his client arrived at the South Jakarta Kejari building on Friday at 10 a.m. WIB. Napoleon and another suspect named Tommy Sumardi were also present.

Their presence occurs in the context of the delegation of files and suspects from Phase two of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police to the Prosecutor’s Office.

The investigator then asked the suspects a series of questions in order to manage the case.

The questions raised were, among others, related to the suspect’s health and whether there was anything else he wanted to say before signing the file. The question and answer session lasted no more than 30 minutes.

After that, the prosecutor’s office served the suspects a series of sandwiches, coffee and tea.

When it’s time for lunch, Soto Betawi’s menu is served in front of them to eat together.

“Arrive at lunch, prepared for lunch, warm fluffy white rice and clear Betawi soup with hot coconut milk. Only this time at stage P21, I, as the suspect’s attorney, was served lunch,” Petrus wrote on his Facebook account.

Petrus also shared photos of the lunch on his Facebook account.

In the photo, South Jakarta’s Chief District Attorney Anang Supriatna, Petrus along with Prasetijo and Napoleon who are also with their lawyers.

Prasetijo and Napoleon still wore police uniforms.

Another suspect, Tommy Sumardi, according to Petrus, was in a different room. However, it is still on the same floor as the South Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office, that is, Floor 3.

After lunch together, Petrus continued, Kajari Jaksel handed over the prison clothes to Napoleon and Prasetijo accompanied by an apology.

“Kajari came up to us and handed over the lawyer’s detention clothes to the two suspects while explaining, sorry, general, this is standard procedure and rules for being detained at the prosecutor’s office,” Petrus wrote again.

Napoleon and Prasetijo later exchanged the police uniform for the prisoner’s clothes.

“The two suspects immediately agreed, they took off their official clothes to put on their prison clothes, because Pak K Guru said it was used for a while, because in the lobby there were many journalists covering it and this was for the common good,” he said Petrus.

Subsequently, the suspects were returned to the prosecutor’s arrest warrant and returned to the Criminal Investigation Unit Building of the National Police.

When confirmed by Kompas.com, on Monday (10/19/2020), Petrus confirmed the lunch.

“Indeed, such an incident. Only lunch, because it is time to eat and (food) bought in the canteen,” said Petrus.

According to Petrus, it is normal for the chief prosecutor to have lunch with a suspect. It is nothing out of the ordinary.

Petrus also regretted that this ordinary moment has gone viral on social media.

He said, there were parties that narrated the photo negatively so that the photo went viral.

“In my post it was (actually) an expression of gratitude. But it was narrated differently, so it went viral,” Petrus said.

In the bribery case related to the removal of Djoko Tjandra’s red notice, investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police named four people as suspects.

Djoko Tjandra and a businessman named Tommy Sumardi have suspect status and are suspected of grafting bribes.

Suspects suspected of giving bribes are subject to Article 5 Paragraph 1, Article 13 of Law Number 20 of 2001 on the Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 of the Penal Code.

Meanwhile, the former inspector general of Kadiv Hubinter Polri (Pol) Napoleón Bonaparte and the former head of the Coordination and Supervision Office of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Brigadier General (Pol) Prasetijo Utomo, are suspected of accept bribes.

Both are suspects of article 5 paragraph 2, article 11 and article 12 letters a and b of Law Number 20 of 2001 relative to the Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with article 55 of the Penal Code.
