PALEMBANG, KOMPAS.com – Joint officers from the South Sumatra Province National Narcotics Agency (BNN) arrested a member of the initial DPRD from the city of Palembang because they caught him carrying five kilograms of crystalline methamphetamine and hiding thousands of ecstasy pills.
D’s arrest took place at Jalan Riau, Ilir Barat 1 Palembang, this morning, Tuesday (9/22/2020).
The head of the South Sumatra National BNN, Brigadier General Pol Jon Turman Panjaitan, said that initially, the police carried out developments related to the case of the arrest of F in Tasikmalaya, West Java, which is the owner of PO Pelangi Bus .

The development results show that D, a member of Palembang City DPRD, was actually involved and became a trafficker to control drug trafficking in various areas of South Sumatra.
Officers who had obtained D’s identity spied on him and immediately arrested him while he was riding a motorcycle with a woman.
“On the motorcycle we got five kilograms of crystalline methamphetamine,” Jon said in giving a live press release Tuesday.
After obtaining evidence of five kilograms of crystalline methamphetamine, the investigation was resumed. Agents found thousands of ecstasy pills hidden by the suspect in his laundry business.
“While we were in the laundry there were several more suspects that we captured. A total of six people, four men and two women. One of them is D, a member of the Palembang city DPRD,” he said.

Based on the results of the mid-term examination, D brought the crystal methamphetamine and thousands of ecstasy from Aceh for distribution in various areas of South Sumatra.
“Now the roles of other suspects are still being explored. The suspect is still being investigated,” Jon said.
