Four residents of Lembontonga village, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi are suspected of being killed by East Indonesian terrorist group Mujahidin (WITH) Leader Ali Kalora |.
The victims were directly executed by Ali Kalora. Police said the action was aimed at sowing terror in the community.
“So sometimes they like to carry out random actions. They are called terrorists, so they carry out acts of terror to scare the public,” said the Chief of Public Relations of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Didik Suparnoto when confirmed, on Saturday (11/28).
According to the information gathered, the murder was first reported by Ulin, a witness who is also the son of the victim.
The incident occurred around 09:00 WITA at the victim’s residence at Dusun ST 2 Lewono. At that time, the terror group took Ulin’s father and mother, Yasa and Nei, hostage. Then Ulin and her husband, Pino.
Ulin managed to escape. It’s just that Ali Kalora has executed another victim. Four victims were reported to have died in dire conditions. Apart from that, the perpetrator also burned one of the houses around the town.
“There were four who died, in the name of Yasa, then Pinu, Naka and Pedi,” he said.
Police are still investigating the case. Three fugitives from the MIT group are strongly suspected of being involved in the murder.
The perpetrators fled into the forest after carrying out the action.
“From yesterday to the present, Task Force Tinombala personnel continue to hunt down the MIT group that carried out the terror,” Didik said.
Ali Kalora is known to be the leader of MIT after the previous leader, Santoso, was killed by the authorities.
Finally, the TNI-Polri apparatus, who are members of the Tinombala Task Force, shot dead two members of the Poso East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT), who had entered the city of Palu, in Central Sulawesi. Both are on the wanted list (DPO).
Central Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Pol Abdul Rakhman Baso said the two MIT members were shot in the Parigi Moutong regency area in Central Sulawesi.
“The two DPOs with the initials W alias A alias B and AA alias A, and when they were arrested they resisted for decisive action that resulted in the death of the two MIT members,” Abdul quoted Antara, on Tuesday ( 11/17).
There are still 11 members of MIT who are being persecuted by the security forces. The police also asked them to surrender immediately.
