JAKARTA – Pangdam Major General Jaya Dudung Abdurachman sent his soldiers to download billboards for the Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Habib Rizieq Shihab at various locations in DKI Jakarta.
“There (people) dressed in stripes lowered the billboards of Habib Rizieq, that’s my order,” Dudung said during a rally of troops in Monas, Jakarta, on Friday (11/20/2020).
Dudung admitted that he was furious after several Satpol PP officers lowered the billboards that were installed without permission. However, the billboards were reinstalled for TNI to intervene.
He also stressed that neither party should attempt to disturb unity and integrity. The reason is that TNI will intervene if there is an invitation or provocation that disrupts the security of the state.
“If necessary, FPI just disband it. Just disband! If you try with TNI, come on. Now how are they doing their thing? I say it’s my order,” he said.
In response to that, DPP FPI Chairman Slamet Maarif said that there are rules of the game that apply to the dissolution of mass organizations in Indonesia.
He also recalled that TNI is a state institution founded by ulama. So, he asked that they not face each other.
“I advise TNI that TNI was founded by the ulama (General Soedirman) and has always been united with the Muslim community so that TNI does not confront the ulama and the Muslims,” he said.
According to him, residents, not FPI members, had installed billboards bearing the image of FPI Grand Imam Habib Rizieq Shihab, after the Jakarta Satpol PP removed them.

“The banners that were removed were not us who put them up, but the people who put them up. The content of the welcome banner was IB HRS and he was already in the country, so there is no problem with TNI helping Satpol PP, “he said.
