Thomas Tuchel: N’Golo Kante as Anugerah

Thomas Tuchel praised Chelsea for being able to tame Liverpool 1-0. N’Golo Kante was one of those whom Tuchel praised as high as heaven.

Chelsea beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield in the Premier League on Friday (3/5/2021) WIB early in the morning. The only goal for the Blues victory came from Mason Mount in the 42nd minute.

These results see Chelsea now jump to fourth place in the Premier League standings with 47 points. The Reds, the defending champion, should be stranded in seventh place with 43 points.

Thomas Tuchel was very pleased with the appearance of Timo Werner et al. He said Chelsea performed well on all fronts.

“I am very happy with the players. They are ready to play, they dare to attack and they do not want to lose a duel. This is a difficult match,” Tuchel was quoted as saying by Chelsea’s official website.

Chelsea is so dominant. Despite narrowly losing possession of the ball, 45 per cent compared to 55 per cent with Liverpool, the Blues are able to open more shots on goal, which is five to one.

Thomas Tuchel did not forget to praise N’Golo Kante. The appearance of the French player as a defensive midfielder, so a solid wall as Chelsea’s first defensive wall.

“Kante is a prize. He plays amazing and never stops running,” praised Tuchel.

N’golo Kante had four successful tackles, two punts and two interceptions. Kante cut off the flow of the ball from midfield to Liverpool’s front row.

In fact, Kante also provided assistance for Mason Mount’s goal. Kante deftly held onto Mount’s helmet, which in turn led to a goal.

“We see data on intensity and Kante is extraordinary. I have never seen such a player,” concluded Tuchel.
