KONTAN.CO.ID -JAKARTA. A survey by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) said that 90% of Indonesians are disciplined when wearing masks amid the corona or Covid-19 pandemic. However, the number of positive Covid-19s in Indonesia has not decreased.
From the site covid-19.go.id, the number of positive corona cases on Friday, October 9, 2020 reached 324,658 people. This figure was accumulated with the sum of the patients with a daily positive corona that were registered in 24 hours, reaching 4,094 people.
Covid-19 Task Force Chairman Doni Monardo said that while 90 percent of Indonesians are disciplined when wearing masks amid the corona pandemic, many wear inappropriate masks.

Doni said that the wearing of masks should be at all times in public areas during the corona or the Covid-19 pandemic. “Wearing masks must also be done correctly,” Doni said at a BNPB virtual press conference on Friday (9/10).
In fact, according to Doni, when at home, people should still wear masks if there are family members who are still working in the office or have activities outside the home.
“The use of masks at home is also mandatory, if there are relatives who often leave the house, those who are at home must wear masks,” said Doni.
The results of the interviews with corona patients, from the data of the 7% who were exposed to Covid-19, did not leave home. It is very likely that they are exposed to families who are still away from home.

Additionally, 90 percent of those who responded to patient Wisma Atlet in the BPS survey were mask wearers.
“(Wearing a mask) is both medical and non-medical, but it turns out that they too are exposed. Among other things, they are exposed when they eat. The distance is not regulated. They are not remembered when they eat,” Doni said.
As a result, even when eating, although at home you must also adjust the distance, limited in number. “So at any moment you shouldn’t stop,” Doni said.
