“There were two perpetrators, one with the initials RP, aged 16,” said on Friday (12/18) the head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Metropolitan Police of South Jakarta AKBP, Jimmy Christian Samma, at the Station South Jakarta Metro Police.

RP was arrested with AB as an adult. The two were caught carrying a sharp weapon (sajam), a black knife, on Thursday (12/17) in the vicinity of the South Jakarta subway police station.

RP’s arrest occurred when members of the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police were conducting a security simulation at the Metro Police Station in Jalan Wijaya, South Jakarta.

RP together with AB showed suspicious movements at the South Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters, until the agents took preventive measures arresting both.

During questioning, RP and AB admitted that they wanted to take over a SIM. However, when he checked his identity card, he showed no intention of taking over a SIM.

“This PR has the KTP Garut Regency, while AB is West Jakarta,” Jimmy said.

At that time, the officer conducted a search, until RP found a sharp weapon hidden in his back.

The knife with black algae resembles a kitchen knife, RP admitted that it was brought from the Petamburan area.

“RP left Garut for Petamburan on December 12, 2020, then on December 17 he came from Petamburan to the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police,” Jimmy said.

In addition to obtaining evidence of a knife, officers also seized evidence of clothing in the form of a long-sleeved black shirt with the words Lovers Habib Bahar (PHB), a white hat, a black cell phone, and a shoulder bag.

As a result of the interim examination, RP admitted that he came to Jakarta because he received a chain message via group message to visit the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police.

For his actions, RP is subject to article 2 paragraph (1) of Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951 with the threat of a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
