JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Indonesian Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto complied with WHO’s invitation to attend a virtual conference on Friday (11/6/2020).

The WHO invited Terawan to make a presentation on the management of Covid-19 in Indonesia by implementing an intra-action review (IAR) recommended by the WHO.

He explained about the nine pillars that are the basis for the implementation of the intra-action review (IAR) carried out in Indonesia.

As is known, Indonesia is one of the countries that has implemented the recommendations of the WHO IAR as a method for monitoring and evaluating the management of Covid-19.

The nine pillars, according to Terawan, are the key to supporting greater coordination in the management of Covid-19 in the country.

“First, command and coordination, then risk communication and community empowerment, then vigilance and strengthening of the investigation team,” Terawan said.

“In addition, supervision of international transport, strengthening of laboratories, infection control, case management, logistical and operational support and management of health services,” he explained.

He continued, the key to handling Covid-19 in Indonesia was inseparable from the cooperation of stakeholders, including the central government, local government, security forces, health workers and the community.

“The cooperation and participation of all parties is the key to managing Covid-19. All stakeholders support the management of Covid-19 as per the WHO IAR recommendations,” he added.

IAR Covid-19 is a kind of evaluation and monitoring tool in the management of Covid-19.

At the IAR Covid-19 Indonesia, for example, you will see which ones have been implemented, which ones still need development, and which ones have not been implemented by Indonesia at all.
