The photo of the alleged Makassar attacker was confirmed by South Sulawesi Police Chief of Public Relations Kombes E Zulpan.

“The perpetrators were 2 people, men and women,” Zulpan said.
According to Zulpan, the South Sulawesi Biddokkes police have so far only revealed the identity of the alleged male perpetrator whose head was found on the roof of a building next to the Makassar Cathedral Church.

The suicide bomb blast is known to have occurred in front of Makassar Cathedral at 10:28 am local time. When the explosion occurred, several parishioners of the church were worshiping at the scene.

The government has strongly condemned this suicide bombing. President Joko Widodo stated that terrorism is a crime against humanity and is not related to any religion.

MUI Deputy Chief Anwar Abbas also strongly condemned the suicide bombing as inhumane and contrary to the values of any religion recognized by this country. He asked that the suicide bombing not be linked to SARA. This will make conditions even more unfavorable.
