Suara.com – DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria admitted that he had directly examined the conditions of protesters against the Job Creation Law who were being detained at Polda Metro Jaya.

He mentions that most of them are still students.

Riza said she had seen the age list of the detainees. Most of the thousands of protesters he said were under the age of 19.

“More than 60 percent turn out to be under 19 or student status. Not students, much less workers,” Riza said at DKI Jakarta City Hall on Friday (September 10, 2020).

Furthermore, more than half of the people detained were not Jakarta residents. They live in areas around capital cities like Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi.

“It turns out that more than 50 percent are not Jakarta residents,” Riza said.

Therefore, Riza asked that people who are still minors do not need to join the demonstration. Because large-scale demonstrations like that are prone to riot and cause damage.

“It will be dangerous, if on the road there will be riots, there will be crowds, fights, fights, then being hit by a stone, etc.”, he concluded.

Previously, Riza admitted to having visited the Polda Metro Jaya after the riots over a demonstration against the Employment Creation Law, yesterday Thursday (09/10/2020).

Riza said that due to the unrest, the police had arrested 1,192 people. The crowd, he said, came from students, students and workers.

“About 1,192 have been insured since last night,” Riza said at DKI Jakarta City Hall on Friday.
