KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed down nearly one percent on Tuesday (12/29). Citing RTI data, JCI fell 0.94% or fell 57,380 points to the 6,036,174 level.

JCI opened higher at the 6,112,720 level and moved to the higher level at 6,143,870 after that direction changed and touched the lower level of 6,026,705.

All sectors were stained with the basic industrial sector at least 1.70%, then the mining sector fell 1.16%, the plantation sector fell 1.09% and the financial sector fell 1.07%. The total trading volume of shares on the IDX reaches 24 billion with a transaction value of 14.68 trillion rupees.

Most foreign investors bought shares of PT Sinar Mas Multiartha Tbk (SMMA) for Rs 239.5 billion. However, SMMA shares fell 1.72% to Rs 11,400 per share. The trading volume of SMMA shares reached 25.6 million with a transaction value of IDR 295 billion.

Foreigners also charge shares of PT MNC Vision Networks Tbk (IPTV) of Rp. 98.8 billion. IPTV shares closed unchanged at Rs 288 per share. The total trading volume of IPTV shares reached 196 million with a transaction value of Rs 102.7 billion.

The shares of PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) are also targeted at foreigners worth IDR 82.2 billion. However, ASII shares also fell 0.41% to Rs 6,050 per share. ASII’s share trading volume reached 40.4 million with a transaction value of IDR 246.1 billion.
