Birmingham –
Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson revealed his team lost 2-7 to Aston Villa. Liverpool will ensure that a similar result does not happen again.
The Reds were shockingly mistreated on their visit to Villa Park in the continued Premier League on Sunday (10/4/2020). Juergen Klopp’s men were even trailing 1-4 in the first half on goals from Ollie Watkins (3) and John McGinn, which only Mohamed Salah answered.
After the restart, the Villans scored another three goals against Liverpool via Ross Barkley and a double from Jack Grealish. The Reds were again only able to score a goal from the Egyptian soccer star.
The loss was certainly an embarrassing score for Liverpool, who won the Premier League with many records last season. Robertson revealed that there were several reasons why Liverpool were crushed, although he also acknowledged that Aston Villa’s performance was much better.
[Gambas:Opta]“We were not good enough. We never won the second balls, we never won the duels, we never scored with the chances that we created in the first half, because we had few chances. Then we finished with a result.” like that, “Robertson told Liverpool’s official website.
“They take advantage of every opportunity they have and all their credit goes to Aston Villa, what a pity. They are better than us,” he continued commenting on the game whose highlights could be seen on Mola TV with this link.
“Every competition on the pitch they win it and when that happens, you can never win a football match. That result from a Liverpool player’s point of view is disgraceful,” Robertson complained.
Liverpool will have to wait a little longer to get back up. After the international break that will last until next week. After that, Robertson cs will face challenges against Everton, a team that is on fire.
“We have to face what is probably our worst loss in a long time. We have to go for two weeks away from the team and then have a Merseyside derby. We will be ready for that. But we will stay compact and secure that kind of performance (against Aston Villa) will never happen again, ”said the Liverpool player, who strengthened the Scottish team.
