Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government has established stages related to the Covid-19 vaccination program that will be provided free of charge to all people.

The plan for these phases has been previously consulted with the Indonesian Immunization Technical Advisory Group (ITAGI) or an independent body advising the Minister of Health regarding the vaccination program in Indonesia.

Health Minister (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin explained that health workers will be the first to be in the vaccination stage, then public officials, the elderly and then other communities.

However, this vaccine will only be given if it has received approval from the Food and Drug Supervision Agency (BPOM).

The government is completely sticking to scientific data to ensure the safety of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The vaccination program should continue to be implemented in conjunction with 3M health protocols, i.e. wearing the masks correctly, keeping your distance and staying away from crowds, and washing your hands with soap.

Citing the official statement from the Ministry of Health, Friday (1/1/2021), the vaccination stages are divided into two waves, namely:

1. Wave I: January to April 2021
1.3 million health workers, 17.4 million public officials and 21.5 million elderly people participated in this stage.

2. Lot II: April 2021 to March 2022
This second batch includes at least 63.9 million vulnerable people from high-risk areas. Next, there are 77.4 million more people who adapt to the group approach based on the availability of vaccines.

For people over 60 years of age, they will be vaccinated after receiving information about the safety of vaccines for that age group from the BPOM.
