Power has been cut in some areas of 8 districts / cities in East Java. Before it was turned off, the sound of an explosion was heard in the Wungu sub-district, Madiun Regency.

“The information was also that there was an explosion (before the power was cut off),” said UPT PLN manager Madiun Suyitno when confirmed by detik.com on Saturday night (3/10/2020).

The results of the investigation of the PLN UPT Madiun officer showed that the sound of the explosion was caused by a kite stuck to a power line or SUTET. Currently, PLN officials, Suyitno said, are still making repairs at the blast site.

“There was an explosion in the information and the cause appeared to be a kite. These officers were in place to repair the normalization,” Suyitno said.

Suyitno said there were 12 substations in 8 district cities experiencing blackout problems. The eight regions are Madiun City and District, Magetan, Ngawi, Ponorogo, Pacitan, Trenggalek, and Nganjuk.

12 PLN substations under UPT Madiun that experienced blackouts with an estimated voltage of 421 megawatts, namely Sidem / PLTA Tulungagung, Trenggalek, PLTU Pacitan, New Pacitan, Ponorogo, Dolopo, Nganjuk trf 1, Manisrejo, Magetan, Mranggen, Ngawi and Caruban .

Electricity in several areas of East Java has suffered blackouts. This is due to a disturbance in the 150 kV system at the delivery of the Manisrejo-Nganjuk 1 and Manisrejo-Nganjuk 2 trips.

As a result of this disturbance, some areas in eight districts of East Java experienced blackouts. These areas are Madiun City, Madiun Regency, Ngawi, Magetan, Ponorogo, Pacitan, Trenggalek, and Nganjuk.

The blackout started at 18:03 WIB and was not the same for all regions. The blackout is known to have been due to a kite stuck in the SUTET wire.
