JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo warned that demonstrations amid the Covid-19 pandemic could lead to new distribution groups.

Jokowi also asked his staff to remind the public of this.

“Under the leadership of the president, it is necessary to remind the public that it is still a Covid pandemic. Therefore, the demonstrations (so that) they do not bring a new demonstration group. That is what the government reminds us,” said the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, after a virtual meeting with President Jokowi on Monday. (10/12/2020).

Previously, groups of workers and students held demonstrations in various regions from October 6 to 8 to reject the Employment Creation Law.

The protesters considered that the Employment Creation Law, which was passed in plenary session, contained regulations that harmed workers.

Several labor and student collectives resumed their actions on Monday (12/10/2020) today.

Airlangga emphasized that during the Covid-19 pandemic, the public must comply with the health protocol in accordance with the call of the Working Group.
