JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The defendant in an alleged drug abuse case, role-playing artist Vanessa Angel, was subjected to the first trial in West Jakarta (PN) District Court on Monday (8/31/2020).
On today’s agenda, Vanessa Ángel listens to the charges of the Public Ministry (JPU).
In the formal indictment read by the prosecutor, Vanessa was charged with Article 62 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 5 of 1997 on Psychotropics in conjunction with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 49 of 2018 on Psychotropics.
For her actions, Vanessa Angel faces a maximum prison sentence of five years and a maximum fine of Rs 100 million.

Upon hearing the allegations of the Prosecutor’s Office, Vanessa Angel did not object.
“Yes, because there is nothing to reject, that the trial is speedy,” Vanessa Angel said when meeting after the trial in West Jakarta District Court on Monday.
Even so, Vanessa Angel did not want to speak much about the charges read by the prosecutor.
Vanessa Angel has stated that she has submitted all legal matters to her jurisdiction.
“For legal matters, we simply present it to the attorney, because we are afraid of saying the wrong words in legal matters,” Vanessa Angel said.

“But what is clear is that the important thing is that I can be with my husband, my son, that’s all,” Vanessa continued.
Vanessa Angel is known to have been arrested with her husband, Aunt Ardiansyah, and her assistant in the Kembangan area, West Jakarta, on Monday night (3/16/2020).
From the search, the police confiscated evidence in the form of 20 xanax pills.
