Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin revealed a series of possible suspects in cases of alleged corruption in the financial management of PT Asabri (Persero) investment funds for the period 2012-2019.
This was stated by Burhanuddin in a working meeting with DPR RI Commission III in the DPR RI Commission III meeting room, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta on Tuesday (1/26/2021).
“18 witnesses have been questioned, 7 possible suspects have been carried out,” he said.
However, that number could still rise given the ongoing investigation process.
“It can still be developed again because it is still being investigated. We cannot pass on the names of the suspects,” Burhanuddin said.
Previously, the Ministry of Public Companies (BUMN) had presented the handling of the alleged Asabri corruption case to the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) on Tuesday (12/22/2020). This was done after a meeting between BUMN Minister Erick Thohir and Attorney General ST. Burhanuddin.
Burhanddin, at the time, also said that the Financial and Development Supervision Agency (BPKP) had audited the loss, which was 17 trillion rupees.
The value of the loss is greater than the state loss incurred by PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero), which amounted to Rs 16.8 trillion which was calculated by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
Such value raises the question of whether the suspect is the same as the previous case in Jiwasraya.
When journalists presented the names of two defendants in the Jiwasraya case, namely PT Trada Alam Minera Tbk (TRAM) President Commissioner Heru Hidayat and PT Hanson International Tbk (MYRX) owner Benny Tjokrosaputro (Bentjok) Burhanuddin was reluctant to go into more detail, although there were indications that he points to this.
“Meanwhile, there must be two that are the same first. Then the other will be developed later. We will study first. [Dua itu Bentjok dan Heru Hidayat?] I didn’t say the name first, “he said.
But it certainly did leak that there were private parties and directors who would become suspects.
