Jakarta still suffers from floods year after year. Anies Baswedan’s policy as governor of DKI Jakarta also received great attention.

As is known, the rains that have occurred in recent times have always left floods in various parts of the Capital City. The DKI DPRD members also put a big question mark on the flood control program that Anies was promoting.

“Yes, because for 3 years the flood relief program has not been implemented, what is currently being carried out is only routine work,” said on Sunday (10/25/2020) the president of the PDIP faction from Jakarta, Gembong Warsono.

According to Gembong, Anies should immediately carry out a flood control program in the field. Gembong said that Anies only had one speech so far.

“Don’t just talk about naturalization and vertical drainage, which are expected to alleviate flooding,” Gembong said.

“The promise of the campaign is not to take Jakarta residents hostage every rainy season. The disposition of the area is a priority, when Anies wants to solve the problem of flooding in a proper way,” he added.

PEN budget for flood control

The National Economic Recovery Fund (PEN) was also allocated for flood control. DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said there are a number of programs that take priority.

“The allocation is a lot, the allocation is distributed mainly for flood control, more than IDR 5 billion, then for housing with 0% down payment, that is a program,” said Riza on Saturday (10/25/2020) .

“The flood is our current situation. The main thing is to increase the volume of water storage. The first way to do it is by dredging 13 rivers, reservoirs, reservoirs, then sewers, sewers, we will all expand the volume,” he added.

In addition, Riza said that the DKI Provincial Government will manufacture sodetan to drain the water, along with suction of water to move it to another place to be forwarded to the sea. The provincial government of DKI Jakarta, Riza said, will also build vertical infiltration and drainage wells. Don’t forget to organize a failed pump too. Riza said that this plan will be carried out in the near future.

“Then expand the reservoir by also making vertical infiltration and drainage wells. That is also done, then also to achieve all this a pump is needed, there is a purchase of a pump to repair the pumps. Yes, this year,” he said.
