The president of Labor still rejects the Omnibus Law for job creation, said Iqbal: The demonstrations will be bigger

SHARE THE NEWS – The government plans to collaborate with many parties, including workers, to formulate Government Regulations (PP) and Presidential Regulations (Perpres) as a follow-up to the Employment Creation Law.

The PP and the Presidential Decree will be the rule of law (UU) Create Work that has been approved by the DPR RI on Monday, October 5, 2020.

However, the Employment Creation Law drew rejection from workers, sparking a wave of demonstrations.

The president of the Confederation of Indonesian Workers’ Unions (KSPI), Said Iqbal, confirmed that his party would not participate in the discussion of regulations derived from the Employment Creation Law. On the other hand, according to him, workers are currently preparing for a new action of greater resistance.

Reported by Distributing News of Antara News Agency via Gaya Journal, on Thursday, October 15, 2020, Said Iqbal made sure that workers remained consistent in rejecting the Omnibus Law on the Employment Creation Law, as stated has expressed so far.

“The workers have rejected the Omnibus Law on the Employment Creation Law, it is impossible to accept the derived regulations. In addition, they are involved in discussing it,” Iqbal said in Jakarta.

The position of the KSPI, according to him, is in line with the commitment of the workers, which until now has been firm in rejecting the Omnibus Law on the Employment Creation Law, especially the labor cluster.
