LISBON – Cristiano Ronaldo also played when the Portuguese team hosted Andorra on Thursday (12/11/2020) at the WIB in the morning. According to the coach of the Portuguese team, Fernando Santos, this decision could be something that disappoints Juventus.

As the owner of the club, Juve is hopeful that Ronaldo will rest. The reason is that the five-time Ballon d’Or trophy winner has recently recovered from the Corona Virus (Covid-19).

In addition, in the last game with Juve, specifically against Lazio in the 2020-2021 Italian League, Ronaldo also suffered a minor injury. Therefore, Juve is hopeful that CR7 will rest in the match against Andorra to maintain the player’s form.

Also, the match against Andorra that was held last night at the Estadio Da Luz was just a friendly match. Even without Ronaldo present, on paper, Portugal should be able to win easily.

However, Santos has other thoughts. Ronaldo did not play as a starter. However, CR7 dropped in the second half.

Santo explained that Ronaldo is a figure who wants to play in every game, even every minute. Therefore, he wants to make Ronaldo happy by playing him in the match against Andorra.

“He wants to play every minute and every second of every game. He never wanted to leave the field,” explained Santo, as reported by Italian Football, on Thursday (12/11/2020).

Although he was only in action in the second half, Ronaldo successfully contributed a goal and helped the Portuguese team win 7-0. An additional goal has brought Ronaldo closer to the record held by Iranian national team legend Ali Daei.

Daei is currently the top international scorer of all time with 109 goals in 149 games for Iran. Meanwhile, Ronaldo has scored 102 goals for the Portugal team.

Therefore, CR7 only needs seven more goals to match Daei’s record. With Ronaldo still actively playing and in top form despite being 35 years old, it is possible that the captain of the Portugal team will surpass Ali Daei’s record.
