YAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Government of DKI Jakarta begins today, Friday (04/10/2020), imposing large-scale social restrictions (PSBB).

This rule will be valid for 14 days, ending on April 23, 2020 (can be extended).

As stated by DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, that ojeg may not be between passengers, but between goods.

Online motorcycle taxi rules are not allowed to travel or carry passengers in reference to Article 15 of the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 9 of 2020 on PSBB.

The rule says “freight transportation services, including application-based two-wheeled transportation facilities with restrictions only for freight and not for passengers.”

As for the Grab Bike service, it does not disappear from the application, but after the user enters the destination address, the system will automatically change the options to Grab Car.

In connection with this, the President of the Indonesian National Two-Wheel Action Association (GARDA), Igun Wicksono, gave his opinion, saying he was disappointed with the decision.

“This has an impact not only on online motorcycle taxis, but for all motorcyclists. As long as a motorcycle transports passengers by observing safety protocols, it can actually prevent the spread of corona virus transmission,” he said when it was contacted Kompas.com on Friday (04/10/2020)

According to him, using taxis online is also ineffective, because the distance in the car is also not up to a meter. Not too different from the bike.

Igun continued: “It should not disappear immediately (motorcycle taxi service) like this, many small people are struggling because 80 percent of their income comes from passenger transport.”

Igun continued, there were also many users of ojol from public servants such as medical personnel. Maybe the rules are limited, but they are still allowed. for example, just bringing in medical personnel is practically not lost at all.

Meanwhile, there has been no further information from Gojek or Grab related to the loss of motorcycle taxi service, either nationally or only in certain regions.
