Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Several groups of people will have priority in vaccination against Covid-19. They will receive vaccinations in the early stages, before other communities.

These priorities are set out in Permenkes No 84 of 2020 regarding the implementation of vaccines in the context of the management of the Covid-19 pandemic which was signed by the Minister of Health Terawan Putranto and is valid from December 14, 2020.

One of the things that is regulated is the list and order of Indonesian citizens to be injected with the Covid-19 vaccine.

Article 8 mentions that the criteria to receive the Covid-19 vaccine in Indonesia are determined based on the study of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization and / or Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization of the World Health Organization (SAGE WHO) .

The regulation also establishes that the priority recipients of the first vaccine are healthcare workers, healthcare workers support assistants working in the Health Services Facilities, the Indonesian National Army, the Indonesian National Police, legal officials and other public service officials.

In addition, community / religious figures, strategic economic actors, sub-district officials, town officials, and ward / ward units.

Next priority, early childhood / kindergarten, elementary, middle school, high school or equivalent / equivalent teachers / educators and colleges; d) ministerial / institutional apparatus, organizational apparatus of the regional government apparatus and legislative members.

Another priority is vulnerable people from geospatial, social and economic aspects and society and other economic actors.

Previously, President Joko Widodo revealed that he would be the first recipient of the Covid-19 vaccine after the vaccine obtained an emergency use permit from the Food and Drug Supervision Agency (BPOM).

“The vaccines will be carried out immediately in mid-January 2021 to achieve herd immunity so that we can stop the spread of Covid-19,” Jokowi said at a press conference welcoming 2021 on the YouTube channel of the Presidential Secretariat, on Thursday (12/31/2020).

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has also scheduled vaccinations in stages and prioritizing scales.

First wave Vaccinations will be carried out from January 2021 to April 2021. The vaccines will be injected to 1.3 million health workers and 17.4 million public workers.

At the same time, 21.5 million elderly (elderly) aged 60 and over will also receive the vaccine. However, vaccination will only be carried out if you have received confirmation of safety from the BPOM.

The second wave Vaccination will take place in April 2021. Vaccines will be injected to 63.9 million vulnerable people or in areas with high risk of transmission. Additionally, other communities will use a cluster approach based on vaccine availability with a total population of 77.4 million.
