The National Police gave an explanation about the subpoena of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan due to the crowd at the Habib Rizieq Syihab event. The National Police also revealed that the event that caused the crowd did not get the permission of the police from the local government.
This was revealed by Karo Penmas, the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono at the d’Rooftlak event that was broadcast on detikcom, Wednesday (11/18/2020). Awi responded to critics who thought Anies’s call to clarify the Rizieq event was excessive.
“That the position of the governor is clear. First is the head of the region, the head of the region who issues the regional regulations. The one who decides that Jakarta PSBB is transitional, means what, knows very well that today we must comply with health protocols, “Awi said.
The summons to clarify Anies, called Awi, was also related to Anies’ visit to Petamburan on the day of Rizieq’s return. The clarification, Awi said, was made by investigators to examine alleged violations of the Sanitary Quarantine Law.
Then, on the day of HRS’s return, the person in question (Anies) visited his residence (Rizieq) at night. So from there it was impossible for a governor not to know about the transitional problem of the PSBB. Then the person in question also had time, he qualified, there was communication with HRS, “Awi said.
“So that’s where the investigator conducts an examination, to search, to find events that are suspected to have violated Health Quarantine offenses,” he continued.
