Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Covid-19 Management Working Group explains the reasons why the suspects or persons suspected of contracting Covid-19 have decreased from more than 160,000 to 60,000 in one day.

At a press conference, Covid-19 Management Working Group spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito said this decline was the result of improvements and alignment of reporting data on the evolution of cases in a number of regions and centers.

“This is part of process one of Covid-19 data, core data, and regional data,” Wiku said at a press conference on Tuesday (03/11/2020).

According to CNBC Indonesia records, the number of suspects on Wednesday October 28, 2020 reached 169,833 people. But the day after that, there were 68,888 people suspected of Covid-19 or a decrease of more than 100,000.

Wiku explained that until now the Task Force had been encouraging local governments to conduct maximum and comprehensive testing as early detection of Covid-19 cases in their respective regions.

According to him, it is currently necessary to evaluate laboratory operations for examination. Based on data analysis, there is a downward trend in testing on weekends during long vacations.

“This is one of the challenges that we are trying to solve,” he said.

“Remember this virus never takes a day off, so a day off can be anticipated in the future, for example through lab operations, adding lab work shifts, and appropriate intensive consideration,” he said.
