JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – DPR General Secretary Indra Iskandar said the DPR leadership turned off the microphone when the Democratic Party faction interrupted the Plenary Meeting for the Ratification of the Omnibus Law on the Job Creation Bill, on Monday (5/10/2020) to maintain the order of the meeting participants when expressing opinions.
“Everyone has time to speak, taking turns. If the microphone is turned off it is only to stop the interrupted traffic, the management has the right to organize the meeting,” Indra said in a written statement on Tuesday (6/10/2020).
Indra said that the plenary session was chaired by the Vice President of the Indonesian Parliament, Azis Syamsuddin. Aziz, Indra said, had clashed with a member of the Democratic Party faction Benny K. Harman.

According to Indra, Benny felt he had no right to speak.
Meanwhile, Azis claimed that the Democratic Party faction had had three opportunities to speak in plenary session, namely, the secretary of the Democratic Party Faction, Marwan Cik Hasan, and the members of the Democratic Party, Irwan Fecho and Didi. Irawadi.
Indra appreciated that in this context the president of the meeting did not try to prevent the Democratic Party faction from expressing its opinion.

Indra also said that the microphone in the plenary room of the DPR RI has been configured to turn off automatically after five minutes of use so that each member has the same time to speak in the meeting.

Azis also said that if Benny insisted on interrupting, he would be kicked out of plenary.
