Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Director General of Development of the Regional Administration Ministry of Interior Safrizal denied the governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan that says there is no prosecution for violations of the health protocol in Pilkada 2020.

Safrizal said that data on the prosecution was always presented at every electoral evaluation meeting. However, Anies may not know because he has never participated in a meeting because there are no regional elections in DKI Jakarta.

“For example, the governor of DKI Jakarta said that there was no warning against the violation of the health protocol, these are the data. In fact, Aceh and Jakarta did not participate in the Pilkada, so we did not explain it against Aceh and DKI, “Safrizal told the Interior Ministry Office, Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/17).

Safrizal said that supervision related to compliance with health protocols was always carried out during elections. The central government also holds weekly meetings inviting organizers, law enforcement officials, and governors.

He said that the prosecution for violations of health protocol had also been carried out firmly. Currently, there are only 2.2 percent of violations of the total campaign carried out.

“This is done seriously and is done solely to maintain the safety of the candidate pairs, the campaign team, the people who attend the meeting,” he said.

Earlier, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan discussed the handling of health protocols at Pilkada 2020.

He relayed this in response to public criticism about the crowd from Imam FPI Rizieq Shihab. According to Anies, there is no strict regional government like DKI.

“You see that Pilkada throughout Indonesia is underway, is there any letter [resmi] reminded organizers of the importance of obeying health protocols, “Anies told the DKI Jakarta DPRD based on a recording received on Monday (11/16).
