The Minister of Internal Affairs, Tito Karnavian, refused to confirm the 611 officials appointed and transferred by the regent of Jember Faida. The rejection was manifested in a letter signed by the Director General of Regional Autonomy of the Ministry of the Interior, Akmal Malik.
The letter, dated September 1, 2020, was addressed to the Governor of East Java with copies to the Minister of the Interior, the Regent of Jember and the DPRD of Jember. Written regarding the letter, that is, the explanation of the implementation of the transfer of structural officers in the Jember district government environment.
“Yes, the letter is number 820/4371 / OTDA dated September 1, 2020”, said on Saturday (12/9/2020) the acting director of Institutional Facilitation and Regional Personnel of the General Directorate of Otda of the Ministry from the Interior, Cheka Virgowansyah.
There are a number of points made in the letter. One of the contents was that the Minister of the Interior did not approve the request for investiture of 611 officials appointed and transferred by the Regent of Faida.
According to Cheka, the transfer of hundreds of officials was carried out by Regent Faida in stages. That is, since February 2019.

“(Mutation) since February 2019,” he said.
The letter from the Ministry of the Interior also directed Regent Faida to implement the recommendation of the Ministry of the Interior regarding the return of the transferred official to his original post. The recommendation is based on the results of a special inspection carried out by the General Inspectorate of the Ministry of the Interior.
“So these officials must be repositioned to their original positions according to PP number 18. The positions of these officials have not been promulgated because they are not in accordance with PP number 18,” Cheka said.
Jember Faida’s regent has not been successfully confirmed regarding the letter from the Interior Ministry. When he contacted his cell phone, he was not answered. The same goes for the Sekkab Jember Mirfano. Mirfano also did not respond to phone calls from detikcom.
