PARIS, KOMPAS.com – The identity of the teacher who was beheaded in France was revealed after showing cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, in which the victim’s name was Samuel Paty.

Paty was killed while walking home from school in Conflans-Saint-Honorine, located 30 kilometers from Paris.

He was beheaded with a kitchen knife, and the killer was identified as Abdullakh Anzorov, an 18-year-old Chechen teenager.
Aboulakh was shot dead by police when he fled after killing the 47-year-old teacher and refusing to be detained.
The spokesman for the Russian embassy in France, Sergei Parinov, said TASS quoted AFP declared that Anzorov had nothing to do with his country.
“This crime has nothing to do with Russia because this person has lived in France for the last 12 years,” Parinov said.
He explained that the 18-year-old had come to “Wine Country” with his six-year-old family, where they were seeking asylum.
Anzorov is known to have obtained a residence permit this year. “He did not contact the Russian embassy at all,” Parinov continued.

The root causes of Paty’s murder began ten days ago, when she presented the cartoon as part of the free speech material.
At that time, Paty invited Muslim students who did not like her teaching to leave the classroom. However, there is a student who lives in the class.
The student then recounted Paty’s teachings to her father, who was angry and later filed a complaint with the school.
The unidentified student’s parents organized an online campaign demanding that Paty be fired and asked to meet with the school leader.
Later, the father described both Paty’s identity and her daughter’s school address on the Internet, insisting that “this must end.”

A colleague said Paty received immediate death threats a few days after handing over the material.
“Samuel has angered the parents by showing the cartoon in his class, for which he received threats,” said the colleague.
According to statements by anti-terrorist prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard, Anzorov is known to have gone to school on Friday afternoon and asked where Paty was.
As soon as Paty was beheaded and Anzorov shot dead, the police moved swiftly to arrest the nine people who were held responsible.
Four of them were reported to be relatives of Anzorov, then one of the remaining five were parents of students who revealed Paty’s identity.

“A good listener”
Education Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer condemned the video posted by the student’s father, calling it “the biggest scandal.”
“All children must understand that they are lucky to be able to study in France and live in a democratic country,” he said.
Parents and students from the school where Paty taught on Saturday laid flowers and showed solidarity.
Hugo, a former student, revealed that Paty was a great person, very supportive and a good listener in class.
“Everyone had input when he taught, and it was a lot of fun. Now it is gone. We cannot give up, ”explained the anonymous student.

“Super fun”
Nordine Chaouadi, whose child received instruction from Paty said, the teacher never provoked when he showed the cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad.
“My son even said that he was a very nice person. He never made arguments that were harassing in nature,” Chaouadi said.
Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that Samuel Paty was assassinated because he tried to teach his students freedom of expression.
