YAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – University of Indonesia (UI) political psychology expert Hamdi Muluk said the Indonesian government had implemented a method of treating the Covid-19 pandemic that was also applied to all affected countries.
However, he said, the method of policy management needs community support to be effective.
There are at least five methods applied in countries exposed to Covid-19, including Indonesia. In its application, it remains to be seen how the emphasis, variation and intensity.

“The government has made all five, now all these five methods need to support the behavior of the community, because this policy is the object and the subject of people, human behavior,” Hamdi said at a press conference on BNPB, the Sunday (05/10/2020).
First, about risk communication. Hamdi said the government must ensure that social communication about Covid-19 is proportional, accurate and precise so that there is no false and false information.
The transmitted information related to Covid-19, he said, should not be biased and scared for people to become paranoid and over-stressed.
But it is also not allowed to say that the Covid-19 pandemic is not dangerous because it makes people not care and take it easy.

“Managing keyword information because this will affect people’s mindsets, emotions, and ways of behaving. So as accurate as possible don’t be mistaken, be ambiguous, become bullshit and rumors. There’s also a theory of the conspiracy that should not be captured by the public, “he said.
Second, hygiene aspects related to health protocols, such as washing hands with soap, wearing masks, maintaining personal hygiene, and the environment should be maximized.
Third, the application of physical restrictions with the term social or physical distancing that consists of several variations must also be strict.
