JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The government has decided that the Christmas, New Year and Eid al-Fitr holidays in December 2020 will remain as before.
Therefore, there was a three-day vacation cut from the previous plan, which was 11 days.
Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy said the decision was made together with the relevant ministries.
“We have been able to make decisions with the relevant ministries. In essence, we have decided in accordance with the direction that the Christmas and New Year holidays are kept, plus (holidays) to replace Eid,” Muhadjir said at a press conference on Tuesday. (1/12/2020).

The holidays start from December 24 to 27, 2020, which is Christmas holidays.
Meanwhile, from December 28 to 30, 2020 there is no holiday, so the community is obliged to continue working as usual.
Then, he said, the Eid al-Fitr replacement holiday was set to December 31, 2020.
The New Years holidays are set on January 1, 2021 and added from January 2-3, 2021, which is a weekend holiday because it falls from Saturday to Sunday.
“So technically the reduction (on vacation) for three days, that is, December 28-30, 2020,” he said.

Muhadjir said the agreement on the year-end holiday would be signed by the three relevant ministers.
The three ministers are the Minister of PAN RB, the Minister of Labor and the Minister of Religion.
Additionally, Muhadjir also made sure that the reduced vacation allowance was not replaced on another day.
“Reducing it means it will not be replaced. Cut down, reduced, so it will not be replaced,” he said.
