KOMPAS.com – The Indonesian government is gradually loosening restrictions on blocking the coronavirus. One of them is to give opportunities to people under 45 to carry out activities.
The reason is that this is done so that groups in the age range do not lose their livelihoods.
Although they can do activities, they still need to pay attention to Covid-19’s prevention protocols, such as keeping a distance, avoiding crowds, wearing masks, and often washing hands with soap.
The policy was revealed by Doni Monardo’s Co-19 Working Group for Acceleration of Manipulation via video conference on Monday (05/11/2020).
“We give this group room for more activities. This is to keep a balance so that people are not exposed to viruses and not to layoffs either,” Doni said, followed by Kompas.com (11/05/2020).

Evaluated without including vulnerable groups
According to Doni, those under 45 are not included in vulnerable groups. He said that, out of the total number of people exposed to Covid-19, the death rate for this group was only 15 percent.
“Young people under the age of 45 are physically fit, highly mobile, and when exposed they are not necessarily sick because there are no symptoms,” Doni said.
Doni said the highest deaths come from the age group 65 and older, which reached 45 percent.
Then another 40 percent comes from the 46-59-year-old age group who have a congenital disease, such as hypertension, diabetes, lung, and heart.
Health protocol
Regarding politics, Griffith University epidemiologist Dicky Budiman said the data actually showed most deaths in the working age, including those 45 and under.
