Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Joan Mir admitted to committing a shameful act in the closing series MotoGP 2020 which took place in the Portuguese MotoGP, on Sunday (11/22).

Mir, who has secured the 2020 MotoGP world title, had a poor performance in the last series. Starting from position 20 made the Spaniard look aggressive from the start of the race.

As a result, Mir crashed into Pecco Bagnaia until he was injured on the first lap. Furthermore, Mir also nearly hit Johann Zarco and made Brad Binder lose a lot of time.

Mir’s bad luck was at its peak on lap 16. The GSX-RR motorcycle driven by the Suzuki Ecstar racer ran into trouble and decided to pit.

“I have to apologize to Pecco because I was too aggressive. Sometimes I criticize this type of maneuver. It is not a dirty play but not the best one, sorry,” Mir said, quoting Speedweek.

“I had some scary moments and the rear tire was getting damaged. It’s a shame the season ended like this,” he added.

Mir couldn’t contribute to Suzuki because he couldn’t finish the race. Suzuki’s chance to win the 2020 MotoGP triple crown was dashed after Alex Rins too collapsed and could only finish 15th.

The constructors’ world title ultimately belonged to Ducati because Jack Miller finished second behind Miguel Oliveira, who won the Portuguese MotoGP. While the third place is occupied by Franco Morbidelli.
