SURABAYA, KOMPAS.com – The crowd action took place in the city of Pasuruan on Sunday (12/26/2020).
Residents accompanied Habib Hasan bin Muhammad bin Hud Assegaf’s funeral from the funeral home to the Al Anwar Mosque Cemetery in Pasuruan City.
In the video that was circulated, several white-collar residents were seen gathering in front of the Al Anwar Mosque around Kota Pasuruan Square.

In the 2-minute video, the fence of the mosque and the information panel in front of the mosque collapsed because they could not withstand the pressure of the crowd carrying the coffin.
In response to this, the Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Kombes Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, admitted that he had monitored the incident.
The East Java Regional Police said it would send a team to explore the incident.
“Right now there is a Covid-19 pandemic, so crowds are strictly prohibited to prevent the spread of Covid-19, so we sent a team to explore,” he confirmed Monday night (12/28/2020) .

The deepening will be done by analyzing the cause of the decline.
“We will explore upstream to downstream why there are so many crowds,” he said.
Separately, Ari Hidayat, from Pasuruan City’s Covid-19 Management Public Relations Working Group, said that Habib Hasan bin Muhammad bin Hud Assegaf was a charismatic scholar in Pasuruan City.
“This is really beyond our estimates, residents came at the same time,” he said.

According to him, the Pasuruan City Covid-19 Task Force had predicted that there would be a crowd when delivering the body of the deceased.
“But we weren’t expecting that much,” he said.
The Pasuruan City Covid-19 task force is currently waiting to see if the crowd has Covid-19 transmission.
