JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The DKI Jakarta provincial government has its own reasons for the funeral of the DKI Jakarta regional secretary at the family grave, not the designated funeral for Covid-19 patients.
The body of DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary Saefullah will be buried in the family cemetery at Jalan Sungai Kendal, RT 03 RW 08 Rorotan Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta.
In fact, every body that is positively exposed to Covid-19 is buried in a special place, namely Pondok Ranggon TPU, Cipayung, East Jakarta; o TPU Tegal Alur, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.

In response to this, North Jakarta’s Mayor Sigit Wijatmoko said that the late Saefullah’s funeral would be carried out in accordance with the Covid-19 health protocol.
“If there is a question why it is not buried in Pondok Ranggon or Tegal Alur, first, we must stress together that the handling of the body is in accordance with health protocols,” Sigit said on Wednesday (9/16/2020) .
Sigit added that the exterior of Saefullah’s coffin had also gone through the health protocol process.
In addition, local residents have also made various preparations for the assessment.

“We are here together with the members of the community to prepare for each procession from the corpse to the funeral, and the series of traditions always comply with the health protocols,” Sigit said.
Additionally, officers conducting the body check will also be equipped with full personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
“Only funeral home officials wear full PPE,” Sigit said.
It was previously reported that DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary Saefullah died at Gatot Soebroto Regional Force Central Hospital (RSPAD), in central Jakarta, on Wednesday (9/16/2020) around 12.55 WIB. (City News / Julianto Hamonangan)
