JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said work-from-home (WFH) provisions of up to 75 percent of the total number of employees will also apply in private companies.

He assured that this policy would be implemented by the end of 2020, starting on December 18, 2020.

“As for the WFH for the private sector and others, during the end of this year we will apply it from 18 (December). The plan is 25 percent for offices that work in offices, including the private sector.” Ariza said at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, on Wednesday (12/16/2020).

Ariza emphasized that there will be sanctions for those who violate it. The provincial government of DKI Jakarta is also said to be conducting oversight to enforce this rule.

“Of course, all provisions of the regulations must be supervised, monitored and sanctioned for offenders,” he said.

The coordinating minister of Maritime Affairs and Investments (Menko Marves), as well as the vice president of Covid-19 and the National Committee for Economic Recovery (KPC PEN), Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, previously requested the governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, to adjust WFH policies back to 75 percent.

This policy is necessary after DKI Jakarta continues to see a significant increase in Covid-19 cases.

In addition, Luhut asked Anies to continue the policy of limiting hours of operation in shopping malls, entertainment venues and places to eat.

“I also asked the governor to continue with the policy of limiting hours of operation to 7:00 p.m. WIB and limiting the number of people who gather in restaurants, shopping malls and entertainment venues,” Luhut said Tuesday.
