The difference between Air Gun and Airsoft Gun used by Zakiah Aini and Cowboy Fortuner

The incident began after Fortuner’s driver struck down the motorcyclist. Residents who learned of the incident immediately stopped the perpetrator’s vehicle and reprimanded him.

However, the assailant drew a gun and pointed it at another driver.

The weapon was later discovered to be an airsoft pistol.

Not long before, the public was also shocked by the terrorist perpetrator’s attack on the National Police Headquarters, who later learned that the perpetrator was named Zakiah Aini.

So what is the difference between an airsoft pistol and an air pistol?

“With the speed and basic material of these bullets, the airsoft pistol is safe to use for war games and rapid reaction shooting sports,” he said.

While the air pistol, the bullet is made of metal, it can be iron, copper, steel or aluminum.

Compressed air guns use CO2 gas.

“With this gaseous material, the airgun is rated at 400 to 500 FPS and can injure the person being shot. Although it does not penetrate the flesh, it can break the skin,” he said.

In foreign countries, Hans said, air guns are used to repel pests like rats and birds.

Often abused

Hans said the air rifle was not used for shooting sports because it could cause injury and be inaccurate. According to him, based on the cases that have occurred so far, the perpetrators of the crime mainly used compressed air pistols to arm themselves.

“The shape is very similar to a firearm and its ability to wound is why air pistols are often misused,” he said.
