JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The government has started imposing a one-time stamp tax rate of 10,000 IDR as of January 1, 2020.
This is in accordance with the provisions of Law Number 10 of 2020 on Stamping. The Director of Advice, Services and Public Relations of the General Directorate of Taxes (DJP) Hestu Yoga Saksama said that currently the tax authority is still in the design stage and printing a new rate stamp of Rp 10,000.
“Hopefully next week is over and can be distributed in the community,” Hestu explained to Kompas.com, Sunday (1/3/2021).

For your information, the imposition of a Rs 10,000 stamp tax replaces the Rs 3,000 and 6,000 rates in force so far. With the imposition of these new rates, the government has also adjusted the documents that are subject to a stamp, that is, from Rp. 250,000 to Rp. 5 million.
The old seal can still be used
Hestu said that a transition period was applied this year. He also explained that the old stamp could still be used with a minimum value of Rp.9,000.
“The tariff for the stamp tax of Rp. 10,000 came into effect from January 1, 2021. For this reason, people can use the stamped objects that currently exist, with a minimum value of Rp. 9,000,” he said Hestu.
According to him, there are three ways to use the two old seals. The first method is to join the stamps of Rp. 6,000 and Rp 3,000 next to each other, then use the two stamps of Rp. 6,000, or with three stamps of Rp. 3,000.
“This can be done no later than the end of 2021,” he explained.

The imposition of a Rs 10,000 stamp tax this year not only applies to physical paper documents, it will also apply to all digital documents and electronic transactions.
However, Hestu said that currently the tax authority is still preparing derivatives regulations, that is, in the form of Government Regulations (PP) and Ministry of Finance Regulations (PMK).
In addition, the supporting infrastructure is an application for electronic document stamps.
“We are preparing the PP and PMK, as well as the infrastructure (applications, etc.) for the seal of electronic documents,” he explained.
