Bareskrim Polri and Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte “fought” at the pre-trial hearing. Both claim to have strong evidence for their statements.

As is known, Inspector General Napoleon, who was dismissed from the post of Chief of the International Relations Division (Kadiv Hubinter) of the Police, presented a preliminary instruction on the suspect’s situation. Inspector General Napoleon was previously named a suspect for receiving bribes from Djoko Tjandra by investigators from the Corruption Crimes Directorate (Dittipikor), Bareskrim Polri).

In his request at the pre-trial hearing, Inspector General Napoleon asked the South Jakarta District Court to cancel the letter of investigation and the determination of the suspect himself. In this pre-trial hearing, the Inspector General Napoleon camp was the petitioner, while the Police Criminal Investigation camp was the accused.

“The defendant’s attorney hereby conveyed the defendant’s response as follows: that the defendant firmly rejects all the arguments of the pre-trial petition presented by the petitioner, except those that have been expressly acknowledged by the defendant.” said Bareskrim Polri legal team representative in South Jakarta PN Jalan Ampera Raya, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Tuesday (9/29/2020).

“The Respondent will not respond and respond to the arguments of the petitioner one by one, but that does not mean that the Respondent justifies the arguments of the Petitioners, but that the Respondent will respond a form of response that is not separated from each other according to with the investigation process, “he continued.

The Bareskrim Polri team said that all the arguments in favor of Inspector General Napoleon’s request were false. The evidence presented by Inspector General Napoleon was also said to be irrelevant.

“Please be pleased with the South Jakarta District Court judges examining and deciding this case to grant the following petition: first, accept and grant the defendant’s full answer; second, reject the request for preliminary investigation,” he said. the Bareskrim Polri legal team.

During the trial, Bareskrim Polri’s legal team revealed the results of the investigation, namely that Inspector General Napoleon allegedly requested 7 billion rupees in exchange for handling Djoko Tjandra’s red notice. Bareskrim’s legal team said that Djoko Tjandra reached out to his business partner, Tommy Sumardi, to help him revoke the red notice on his behalf in March 2020.

“Initially, Tommy Sumardi said it would cost 15 billion rupees (removal of the red notice). But Djoko Tjandra objected and it was agreed that it was 10 billion rupees,” said a legal team from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police.

Tommy Sumardi is said to have visited the room of the former Karo Korwas PPNS policeman, Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo. For Prasetijo, continued the legal team of Bareskrim Polri, Tommy asked to be introduced to the officials of the International Relations Division of the Police (Hubinter).

“Tommy Sumardi and Prasetijo came to Inspector General Napoleon’s office as Head of the Hubinter Police Division and Inspector General Napoleon said that the red notice on behalf of Djoko Tjandra could be opened as long as there was Rp 3 billion in cash,” he continued the Bareskrim legal team.
