JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Various confessions were revealed by four terrorism suspects who were secured by the Anti-Terrorist Police team of Special Detachment 88 from various regions of Indonesia.

These four people admitted that they had just joined the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) led by Habib Hasan Al Hasny in 2019 and planned a series of acts of terror in the country.

They also demanded the release from prison of former FPI Grand Imam Muhammad Rizieq Shihab.

One of the terrorism suspects named Zulaimi Agus claimed to have joined forces to avenge Brimob’s treatment at the time of the 2019 presidential election dispute in Bawaslu.

“I did this to compensate the Brimob apparatus for the harsh treatment in the Bawaslu riots of 2019 and I want to defend justice in my own way,” Zulaimi said.

The arrests of the four suspected terrorists took place at various locations in the DKI Jakarta, Bekasi and West Java areas.

Terrorism suspects have learned to make bombs themselves on various Internet sites. They have met physically several times in the areas of Jakarta and Sukabumi, West Java.

During the meeting, they planned various acts of terror such as blowing up the Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU), throwing hard water at the police and various other activities to demand the release of former FPI leader Muhammad Rizieq Shihab.

So far, all four are still undergoing intensive testing by the Densus 88 Police team.
