Eramuslim.com – The director of the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB), Doni Monardo, feels that he is in debt to the trees. The reason is that he was once saved from a rocket attack by taking refuge behind a tree.

His experience occurred in April 1988. According to his career history, at that time he was serving in the TNI Kopassus unit.

“There was an event where I survived the rocket because it was hidden in a tree,” Doni said in a video broadcast at the IPB University Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) ceremony and broadcast on the University’s YouTube channel. IPB, on Saturday (3/27/2021).

Continuing to tell the story, Doni said that at that time there was a large tree that had a hole underneath. It also entered the hole to avoid rocket attacks.

Sure enough, there was a rocket that hit the top of the tree. Even though he was already taking cover, Doni sensed that there were quite a few metal pieces from the rocket hitting his head.

He then assessed that his body would suffer injuries from rocket attacks if there were no trees that he himself built to protect himself.
