ID figure – President Joko Widodo’s millennial special staff Andi Taufan Garuda Putra conveyed an apology for the existence of a letter on his behalf with the letter from the Cabinet Secretary and addressed to sub-districts across Indonesia.
The letter is a request for the sub-district chief to support education and data collection on the need for personal protective equipment (PPE) to combat the outbreak of the coronavirus (Covid-19) carried out by Andi’s private company, specifically PT Amartha Mikro Fintek (Amartha).
“I apologize for this and withdraw the letter,” Andi said through a written statement on Tuesday (04/14/2020).
Andi explained that the activities of his private company in the fight against the coronavirus at the village level were the result of collaboration with the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration.

“I have to say that the letter is a notification of support for the Opponent Villages Program 19 that was initiated by the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration,” he continued.
By sending the letter to all the sub-district chiefs in Indonesia, Andi Taufan intended to move quickly to help prevent and deal with Covid-19 in the village.
According to him, this can be done through the direct support of the Amartha field team under his leadership.
This support is purely humanitarian and uses Amartha’s public fees and donations to account for them transparently and responsibly.

He also emphasized that the support provided was carried out without using the state budget, both the state budget and the regional budget.
“I will continue to help the government manage the spread of Covid-19. Working together and cooperating with the entire community, both government, private, institutions and other community organizations, to deal with Covid-19 quickly,” Andi Taufan said.
“Once again, thank you and sorry for the turmoil and inconvenience that has arisen. Whatever happens, I continue to help the village in my capacity and limitations,” he continued.

For information, Andi Taufan sent a letter to all sub-district chiefs in Indonesia using the official letterhead of the Indonesian Cabinet Secretariat.
In the letter, Andi introduced himself to all the sub-district chiefs in Indonesia as the Special Staff of the President.
There are two things Andi focuses on to be noticed by the sub-district chief. First, Amartha will conduct an education on Covid-19.

Amartha field officers are said to play an active role in educating villagers about the stages of Covid-19 disease and how to overcome them.
Second, Amartha will also record the needs for PPE in puskesmas or other health services in the village so that implementation works smoothly.

Later, the letter was condemned by some citizens.
