DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan issued Governor’s Regulation No. 41 of 2020 on the imposition of sanctions against violations of the implementation of large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in the management of COVID-19 in the province of the special capital of Jakarta.

“Temporary suspension of activities in the form of sealing hotel service facilities and fines of at least Rs 25,000,000 and a maximum of Rs 50,000,000,” reads article 1, paragraph 1.

Anies also emphasized that all construction projects in Jakarta should limit the activities of workers during the PSBB period. The project leader must also implement health protocols in their workplace.

Anies has also prepared sanctions for projects that violate PSBB rules. The first penalty is a written warning and a fine. The maximum penalty to be applied is IDR 50 million.

“Written warning and administrative fine of at least Rp. 25,000,000 and a maximum of Rp. 50,000.00,” reads Article 9, paragraph 1, point a.

If it still violates after receiving a warning, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will suspend construction activities, in the form of a seal in the project area.

The sealing will take place until the adoption of the PSBB ends in Jakarta. Sanctions will be imposed by the DKI Jakarta Energy, Transmigration and Energy Office.
