CIANJUR, KOMPAS.com – Residents of Cianjur Regency, West Java, were shocked by the discovery of plastic pellets in non-cash food aid (BPNT).

This is what several beneficiary families (KPM) have experienced in Margaluyu village, Sukaratu village, Bojongpicung district, Cianjur.

One resident, Titin (55), said that he found plastic pellets when he was about to consume the rice that he had cooked.

“The shape is round and hard, white. I think the mute is not, he said, it was little plastic balls,” Titin said, on Monday (9/21/2020).

Intrigued, Titin checked the rice that was left in the sack.

“Turns out there are some more like this (plastic pellets),” he said.

Even though it was cooked, he admitted that the plastic granules hadn’t been eaten yet.

“But, I don’t know what your little one is. The problem is that I have cooked this rice three times,” he said.

Meanwhile, the head of RT 02 Margaluyu Village, Alimudin, explained that the plastic granules mixed in the government-assisted rice were round, flat, and larger than the rice grains.

“I see that it is different (in the form of plastic balls with rice), the first to report is a resident of RT 02,” said Ali.

In your neighborhood, there are two heads of the family or KPM who found plastic pellets in the welfare rice.

According to Ali, there are 10 to 20 plastic seeds in a bag of rice.

“The residents may have cooked it. Our concern is that we are afraid that someone has already eaten it,” he said.

Therefore, he hopes that this incident will be the first and the last, and hopes that the parties involved in the distribution of this aid can be more careful in the future.

“So that it can be ordered before it is distributed to the public,” Ali said.

It was previously reported that plastic granules were found in bags of rice for non-cash food assistance (BPNT) in Cianjur Regency, West Java.

From the 12 kilogram sack of rice, 10 to 20 plastic granules can be found.

The local sub-district government together with other related parties are still investigating the origin of the plastic granules mixed in the BPNT rice.
