KOMPAS.com – Tasikmalaya Regional Police officers arrested HM (30), a resident of Salebu village, Mangunreja district, Tasiklmalaya district, West Java, whose actions were viral on social media when he stepped on the Koran.

In addition to securing HM, the police also secured ZN (24), a man suspected of spreading the video.

The perpetrators were arrested by the police after a report from residents who reported to the Tasikmalaya Regional Police on Saturday (05/09/2020).

“We detained two suspects. One stepped on the Koran and the other one who recorded the action and then broadcast it on social media,” Tasikmalaya police chief AKBP Hendria Lesmana told Hendria to reporters in his office on Sunday (10 / 05/2020).

Hendria explained that the case began with the loss of the cell phone of a Salebu resident who was deliberating. Residents also suspect that HM is to blame.

When asked, the suspect denied the accusation and told residents that he dared to swear before the Muslim holy book.

For some reason, HM even trampled on the Koran and the action was recorded by ZN.

“Initially he denied stealing with the oath of the Koran. But he actually stepped on it. At that time the public was just watching and someone was recording it on a cell phone,” Hendria said.

“At the time, citizens did not make a problem because it was HM’s personal affair before God. But ZN videotaped it and downloaded it to social media until it went viral,” Hendria said. TribunJabar.com.
